10 Things to Do this Weekend: June 23-25

It's the first official weekend of summer!

We have a lot of concerts on the list this weekend. Also a couple of activities you could do with the dog. There is Running, Beer, BBQ, Bourbon, Water, Guns, Knives, and Baseball. I'd say there is something on the schedule for just about everybody!

Some activities include the kids, while others are more for the adults.

Brews, BBQ & Bourbon is a weekend long festival celebrating cold brews, mouthwatering BBQ, smooth & smoky Bourbon, and great music! You will find a wide assortment of craft beer, tons of BBQ & varied food vendors, plenty of Bourbon, and bands.

This weekend the West Michigan Whitecaps welcome the Lansing Lugnuts to Fifth Third Ballpark. On Friday night, it's Tiger Friday with former Detroit Tiger Pat Sheridan. Saturday will be Star Wars Night. Wrapping up the weekend on Sunday, it will be Dog Day (bring your dog with you to the game) and Family Sunday.

Huntington Reeds Lake Run

Cost: Prices vary depending on run
It's the 39th annual Huntington Reeds Lake Run. You can run or walk a 5K, run a 10K and even run or walk a 5K with your dog. Back for the third year, there will also be a 10K wheelchair & handcycle division. All runners, walkers, wheelchair and handcycle participants will receive a moisture wicking race shirt.
(Family Fun on Friday, June 23rd from 4:30 pm-7:00 pm at East Grand Rapids High School Football Field. Stop out for a food truck rally, live music, face painting, and kids games.)

Insane Inflatable 5K

The Insane Inflatable 5K is like nothing you’ve ever experienced before. It’s not all about running, it's about having a #CrazyFun day. Feel like a kid again as you take on the giant inflatables. Afterwards enjoy a cold beverage on the Midway.

The 2017 Grand River Water Festival is a day long music driven Environmental Festival featuring Traditional Folk, Country, Bluegrass, Cajun, Blues and World Beat music, performed by Michigan musicians. The music and activities are used to draw together diverse groups of folks from the community and educate them on water quality issues.

15th Annual World's Largest Dog Wash

Get your dog washed at Gilda’s Club World’s Largest Dog Wash brought to you by Bissell and 98.7 WFGR on Sunday, June 25th. Get your furry friend cleaned for only $10. Proceeds from the Dog Wash will benefit the Youth Program at Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids. After the dog wash, stick around for the ballgame. The West Michigan White Caps host the Lansing Lugnuts starting at 1 pm. It's “Dog Day” at the ballpark, so your dog can come and watch the game with you.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are in town on Sunday. One of the most successful acts in rock history, the Red Hot Chili Peppers have sold more than 60 million albums, including five multi-platinum LPs, and won six Grammy Awards. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April 2012.
