There are a lot of elements to this story. First and foremost, 62 high school students got arrested. But, the reason that they got arrested is really the point of discussion here.

Let me explain.

These seniors at a northern New Jersey high school were arrested after their senior prank went a little awry.

Police say officers arrested 62 students after responding to a burglar alarm at Teaneck High School in the early morning hours of Thursday, May 1st.

Here's where I start wondering what kind of prank this was (From Fox):

Officials say they found urine in hallways, petroleum jelly on doorknobs, desks flipped over, chairs broken, graffiti on the walls and balloons strewn throughout the building.

The 38 juveniles arrested are being turned over to their parents. The 24 students who are 18 or older were charged with burglary criminal mischief.

Authorities say they arrested most of the students involved, but a few may have sneaked away.

I'm a fan of a good prank, but I in my world there's no such thing as a prank that involves urine or destruction of property.

This kind of vandalism is awful, because most public school systems are already strapped for cash and don't need to be replacing broken chairs, and quite frankly, school janitors shouldn't have to clean up your urine (or anyone else's). At my high school, the big senior "prank" was a few years before I graduated when someone let some chickens loose in the school. I don't think we ever figured out who did that.

I guess this prank, if nothing else, is an impressive display of coordination. So, I guess, if your arrest record messes with graduation, you can always put "great team-building skills" and "works well with others" on your resume.
