You know that terrible show Jersey Shore, right? Well, one of the stars of the show – The Situation – is a monumental idiot who has still managed to be rather famous, much to my dismay.

So all is well in Situation Land, right? Not quite.

While he is the star of a hit MTV show, some people aren’t so fond of him. Despite the free advertising that comes with appearing on a widely watched reality TV show, Abercrombie & Fitch have posted a statement on their website asking Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino to stop wearing their clothes. That’s how much they hate him.

The statement from Abercrombie and Fitch says:

“We are deeply concerned that Mr. Sorrentino’s association with our brand could cause significant damage to our image”

Valid point. But, it continues:

“We understand that the show is for entertainment purposes, but believe this association is contrary to the aspirational nature of our brand, and may be distressing to many of our fans.”

Distressing? Really? What kind of people are wearing Abercrombie & Fitch clothes then? The kind that feel distress when someone they don’t like wears the same clothes as them?

But there's a bit of a light at the end of the tunnel for the overly-tanned Guido known as The Situation:

“We have therefore offered a substantial payment to Michael ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino and the producers of MTV’s The Jersey Shore to have the character wear an alternate brand. We have also extended this offer to other members of the cast, and are urgently waiting a response.”

Let me get this straight, Abercrombie and Fitch are offering money to people to NOT wear their clothes? Can I, radio DJ who could use some money to help pay off her student loans, also get some cash? I will gladly accept money to never buy their clothes.

Of course, I have my own issues with "The Sitch" and "Jersey Shore" in general,  I kind of hate it (Oops! did I say that out loud?), but I'm sure that there are others who share that sentiment.

Of course, The Situation's co-star DJ Pauly D is in Grand Rapids right now for tonight's Britney Spears' concert at Van Andel Arena.
