Upon her cancellation of all 2011 performances, Adele was subject to a Twitter frenzy claiming the chanteuse had throat cancer. Rest easy: It’s not true!

Adele’s rep spoke to Us Weekly, stating, “We would like to reiterate that Adele is to undergo surgery for a hemorrhaged vocal chord. All reports regarding any other condition are 100 percent false.” Phew!

Twitter was abuzz with the rumor — with #prayforadele and “Adele has throat cancer” becoming trending topics — possibly snowballing in credibility from the singer’s longstanding but recently nipped smoking habit and myriad health problems including laryngitis, a vocal chord hemorrhage and a chest infection.

Even celebs expressed their concern for the singer. While she still needs surgery and to recover from it completely before singing live again, once again, she does not have cancer. So don’t worry, Isaac Hanson — she’s going to be okay!
