Alleged ‘America’s Got Talent’ Scammer Caught Using Fake Photo

The plot thickens in the current "America's Got Talent" scandal involving Timothy Poe, the country singer who claimed that he was a war veteran who sustained injuries while stationed in Afghanistan.

TMZ is reporting, that a photo of a soldier shown during Poe's audition is not Poe at all, but a different soldier altogether.

Staff Sgt. Norman Bone - the man who's actually pictured in the photo - contacted TMZ to set the record straight. And he's not happy about the case of mistaken identity at all.

Bone claims that he's never met Timothy Poe, and that he is less than pleased with him using his photo in the AGT segment. Producers from the show told TMZ that they used the photo because it was provided to them by Poe, and they used it in good faith.

The photo in question was originally posted on the U.S. Department of Defense website along with the caption, "U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Norman Bone directs movement as his patrol turns around on a narrow path in the mountains of Parwan province in Afghanistan on Oct. 25, 2006."

Producers of America's Got Talent will be editing Poe out of the upcoming Las Vegas episode, but have not said whether or not they will edit him out of the show all-together.

Judge Howie Mandel told TMZ that he doesn't believe that Poe will be removed from the show completely. He thinks that producers will allow Poe to continue performing on the show, but now that his story is in question, he'll be known as a liar and not a war hero.
