Another Grand Rapids Gas Outage, This Time Thousands Affected

On Monday about 400 Grand Rapids area natural gas customers experienced a disruption of service.  Today there is another disruption of service affecting thousands.

WZZM reports:

The Grand Rapids Police Department is reporting that several thousand homes on the west side are without gas service.

MichCon has experienced a natural gas supply disruption in the area.

The areas affected are in the area bounded by Covell to Kenowa Avenues and Richmond to O'Brien streets. MichCon personnel are going door-to-door to restore service and perform safety checks.

You are asked to call DTE at 1-800-477-4747 if you reside in the affected area.

With the cold, windy day we're having the timing of this outage is especially poor.  If you are at work and live around the outage, start planning ahead in case you discover your service is out when you get home.
