Ariana Grande closed out 2018 with a tribute to Mac Miller, which she deleted soon after posting.

The pop star posted a picture of her ex-boyfriend's hands playing the piano, with no accompanying message, on her Instagram story ahead of New Year's Eve. The photo disappeared soon after it was posted with no explanation from Grande, 25.

She later posted a sideways photo of herself in her feed, along with a message about her hopes for 2019 and a goodbye to the previous year. Grande's message included a nod to her struggles.

"farewell 2018, you f---. i hope this new year brings you all much laughter, clarity and healing. be gentle with yourselves and each other. if we made it thru this last year, we'll for sure make it thru this one. thank you for everything," she wrote.

A photo she tweeted of Miller's dog, Myron, is still up on Twitter.

Although Grande's Miller tribute was short-lived, it's one of many she's shared since his death. In her hit song, "thank u, next," she called him "an angel." She also shared a moving memorial to him in September, not long after his death, admitting the she "adored" him from the moment they met.

"i can't believe you aren't here anymore. i really can't wrap my head around it. we talked about this. so many times. i'm so mad, i'm so sad i don't know what to do. you were my dearest friend. for so long. above anything else. i'm so sorry i couldn't fix or take your pain away. i really wanted to. the kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. i hope you're okay now. rest," she wrote.

A month later she shared a video of Miller preparing for the Oscars. It was filmed a few weeks before they broke up.
