Arizona Diamondbacks Montero Selects Bat By Kissing It?

Yeah, you read that right. Miguel Montero selected his bat the other night by making out with each one he was deciding between.

Everyone is confused by this. Apparently, it's not a technique that is often used. When Montero was asked about it he played it off like he does it all the time. He said that he was trying to determine the grain of the bat. Bats that have wood grain that sticks out a bit hit the ball and give it a little more spin. Who knew???
