ArtPrize ‘Amazing Race’-Style Event is Saturday

The sixth annual Michigan Adventure Race: ArtPrize Edition will be held Saturday, October 8 in Grand Rapids. The race will wind through ArtPrize and feature both mental and physical challenges.

The Michigan Adventure Race: ArtPrize Edition is part bike race, part running race and part Amazing Race.

Two-person teams will start at Ah-Nab-Awen Park in downtown Grand Rapids then bike, run or walk to checkpoints pre-marked on a map collecting as many points as they can within four hours. The checkpoints will be kept a secret until the start of the race.

There will be challenges which in the past have included riddles and word puzzles that racers must solve related to art installations, a Pictionary-like challenge and a giant egg launch at a target.
