After all of the hype and debate, ArtPrize will be announcing this year's winner tomorrow night.  Voters who have registered and activated their accounts have until 11:59 tonight to place a vote for their favorite out of the top ten.

I am still undecided as to who I will be voting for.  None of my favorites made it into the top ten, but I will still be voting.  This year's top ten includes some artists who are very talented and skilled at what they do, but sometimes it takes more than skill to make great art.  At least in my opinion.  "Great art" means something different to everybody.

Below is one of my favorites from this year that didn't make the top ten.  It's Jennifer Cronin's "Untitled no. 1 (from the peculiar manifestation of paint in my life)" which can be seen at Grand Rapids Public Museum.

All art will stay in display at ArtPrize through Sunday and much of it will stay around for much longer.

I'm looking forward to hearing the results of the top ten and the five juried awards.  Can't wait to discover more art downtown.
