Awkward Pregnancy Photos – A Disturbing New Trend

You know, I feel like I start out a lot of my blogs with "I don't have kids, but..." or some sort of variation of it. And I'm going to do it again.

I've never been pregnant, but I can't believe some of the photos that women let people take of them when they are.  I mean, I get wanting to document your upcoming bundle of joy, and that's fine. When done tastefully. And preferably clothed.

I get it, people have hobbies. Parents, individually or as a couple, are really into certain things sometimes. But, where do we draw the line? Into renaissance fairs? Paint your belly to look like a turkey leg! Really into snorkeling? Put a mask and a snorkel around the baby bump! Super "Star Wars" fans? Oh my... I'm sure the nerdy possibilities are endless with that one.

Apparently, I'm not the only one who has a problem with this strange pregnancy photo trend. In fact, there's an entire website dedicated to these photos. AwkwardFamilyPhotos.com has an entire gallery of nothing but totally strange pregnancy photos.

From women toting guns, to photos of the expectant couple that border on pornographic, to people wearing makeup to make them look like cats (seriously), parents-to-be do some really weird stuff to try and make their pregnancy photos unique.
