The Lakeview School District in Battle Creek is closed Tuesday following a bomb threat.

WZZM-13 reports that officers were notified of the threat at Lakeview Middle School around 6:30a.m. and shortly after officials made the call to close all district schools.

According to police, a female student found a note in relation to the threat in a bathroom Monday afternoon, but the incident was not reported until today.

Police have blocked streets and an bomb detection dog is expected to seach the school.

Officials released a statement on the school's website:

Lakeview Parents and Staff, the following is an update regarding today's school closing. There has been an isolated threat at Lakeview Middle School.  Due to the timing of the threat and as a precaution, all schools have been closed for the day.  School staff should not report.  Elementary child care is closed.  Parents and staff will receive a Skylert call later today about evening activities and once we have received the all clear from law enforcement.
