Being Overwhelmed, Walking, and Halloween – Steve’s Daddy Tips (9-15-21)

This week Steve is all over the place with his Daddy Tips. He has some comforting words for parents who are feeling overwhelmed, he is excited to announce that his daughter Izzy is starting to walk and he has a tip for all of you Halloween lovers out there!

1. This week’s first Daddy Tip is to try to help newish parents get some comfort if they are feeling overwhelmed. So, I’ve got some good news and some bad news. First, It’s perfectly OK to feel overwhelmed. But, on the flip, that feeling of being overwhelmed, kind of sticks around even when you don’t think it should. Now that my kids are getting a little bit older, some things are getting easier, but other new challenges have come up. So, my wife and I constantly go between feeling like we are doing an excellent job only to feel overwhelmed a day or two later. So, just know that there are other parents out there who feel the same as you.
2. The next Daddy Tip is for parents of infants who are getting ready to walk. Our daughter Izzy turned one last month and she has quickly decided that she is going to walk sooner than later. So, now we have our toddler Charlotte helping her walk every chance we can get and it is the most adorable thing ever. And not only is it super cute, but we swear that Izzy tries harder to walk when her sister is there cheering her on. So, get your whole family involved because this can be a big moment not only for your infant, but for your other kids too as they watch their little sibling take their first steps.
3. And the final Daddy Tip this week is for all the parents of Halloween lovers. It’s time to get down to your local thrift shops and go shopping with your little ones because all of their spooky stuff is out and the deals are great. Charlotte’s favorite holiday is Halloween so we have already hit up about 4 different stores and she has loved going Halloween deal hunting all month long. So, if your kiddos love the holiday, be sure to get out now and have a huge selection when it comes to costumes, decorations, and everything spooky for Halloween.
