UPDATE (1:45pm): The electrical engineering building remains closed by police, other campus buildings are now open & the shelter in place order has been lifted.

UPDATE (1:35pm): All people inside of the Electrical Engineering Building are still be asked to shelter in place. All other students are free to resume normal operations.

Officials at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind. have confirmed that a shooting has been reported on their campus.

According to the university's official website, the shooting was reported in the school's electrical engineering building around 12:20pm on Tuesday.

Students at the university are being instructed to shelter in place for the time being. Police have cleared the building and have one suspect in custody and are continuing to search the area.

The university has been updating both their website and their official Twitter account with details as they become available.
