Cardi B may be a chart record breaking rapper and self-proclaimed former dancer and member of the Bloods gang; however, she is also an astute student of politics. And she knows her stuff.

During a recent interview with GQ, the 25-year-old Bronx native chatted about her acclaimed debut album, Invasion of Privacy. She also rattled off all the U.S. presidents, in order, claiming she's obsessed with “how the system works” and admitting Franklin D. Roosevelt is her favorite president. "All he was worried about was trying to make America great—make America great again for real," she said. "He’s the real ‘Make America Great Again,’ because if it wasn’t for him, old people wouldn’t even get Social Security.”

Social Security activists tweeted the quote last week, when the profile ran, and on Wednesday (April 18), Senator Bernie Sanders responded, showing his support.

"Cardi B is right. If we are really going to make America great we need to strengthen Social Security so that seniors are able to retire with the dignity they deserve," he tweeted.

Sanders is popular amongst the younger generation and may run for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020. Maybe he'll appoint Cardi as his Vice President? We can see the Sanders/Cardi 2020 bumper stickers already.
