While the incident is being investigated, students and staff came together last night.

Yesterday, the news broke that a racist message was written on a message board in a residence hall that targeted three students at Central Michigan University. It's being investigated as a hate crime.

Last night, students, staff and faculty came together at a vigil and made a call to action to protect minority students.

Bob Davies, the President of the university, issued a statement that said, "We take seriously the CMU values of integrity, respect, compassion, inclusiveness, social responsibility. The words on that message board violate these values.

We must do better. We must lead. We will lead."

Well done, CMU.
