If you're like Bing Crosby, and you've been dreaming of a White Christmas, your chances to get one here in West Michigan aren't real good.

The gloom has returned to the West Michigan skies after two days of brilliant sunshine, and that means rain more than snow for Christmas, but if you're holding out hope for a White Christmas, there is a slight chance.

According to the National Weather Service forecast, rain comes in on Thursday afternoon, and may turn over to a slushy snow late Thursday night. Any accumulation of snow we would get would be be wiped away by the above freezing temps forecast for Friday.

Snow showers are possible Sunday, and Christmas Day itself is calling for colder temps and snow showers, but for now those accumulations would appear to be negligible.

So, for now, it looks like the Heat Miser has won.

But you never know. Santa may have a trick or two up his sleeve to give you the romantic (according to people who don't have to drive in it) White Christmas you deserve. You have been good this year, haven't you?
