Explain something to me please, how does an 11 year-old child get on an airplane without a passport, ticket or boarding pass? Because it happened on a flight from Manchester to Rome this past week.

The boy managed to get through security check points and customs by just simply hanging with others in the terminal. The only reason he was even found was because other passengers became suspicious when the plane was in mid-air. A Manchester Airport spokesman said more than a few of the airline staff had been suspended over the incident. We would hope so since this is a major security issue.

The BBC News reports that the spokesman said, "It is clear that documentation had not been checked correctly at security and the boarding gate however the boy went through full security screening, so the safety of passengers and the aircraft was never compromised."

So a kid gets on a plane without a ticket, boarding pass, passport, ID, or even a guardian... and no ones safety was in question? Awesome, so glad this is where the Olympics are happening.
