As you know, I have an abnormal obsession with the best soap opera on TV, General Hospital. Back in April I saw that there was going to be something called a "General Hospital Fantasy Weekend." OF COURSE I had to go! I paid $250 for the Platinum VIP ticket which promised me a "star-studded afternoon."

And now, sadly, the event has come and gone. Last weekend, I drove to Rosemont, IL (about 30 minutes from Downtown Chicago) and documented a bit of my road trip there and back.

As you can see in the video above, I freak out a number of times. I wasn't kidding when I said I was tripping out. I still am. It's still surreal that I got to see some of my favorites from the show.

At the event, the platinum ticket holders got to do a two-hour meet-and-greet with the actors that were there. Afterwards, there was about two hours of a Q&A session with the entire audience. It was SO cool getting to hear them answer questions about themselves and the show in general.  Also, the fact that the actors were so humble and down-to-earth and so interactive with their fans, makes the experience that much better.

Not only was it unreal to meet some of the actors but other fans, like myself. It's almost as if GH fans are part of a special club of their own, talking about these fictional characters and their story lines, as if it were real life. How cool, though if it actually were?!

The "General Hospital Fantasy Weekend" is something I plan on doing every year from here on out. It was one of the best days of my life that I will never forget.

You can see my road to fantasy in the video above and see the pictures I took at the event below. Video cameras were not allowed inside the venue so I couldn't get anything on tape but you better believe I got pictures :)
