There will be hundreds of entries at ArtPrize 2013.  At the time of this post, 186 entries are confirmed for this year's competition.

We've highlighted a few of this year's notable entries.

The living statue, Robert Shangle, is familiar to most ArtPrize fans.  He'll be back again this year at The B.O.B.

This year Shangle will play a police officer directing traffic.

ArtPrize fans will remember "Nessie", which finished in 6th place at the first ArtPrize in 2009.  This year's "Loch Ness Monster" is unrelated, but will draw some comparisons to the 2009 entry.

"Loch Ness Monster" by Traci Shipley will be shown at The Riverview Center at 678 Front Avenue during ArtPrize. The entry features a 15 foot Loch Ness Monster which has been captured by an 18 inch doll named Emmy Jo.

Shipley explains at artprize.org:

When I was ten years old my mom made me a doll called Emmy Jo, she is my doppelganger. She is the main focus of my art. She is the leader of a clandestine organization of dolls that track and hunt monsters.

One entry sure to draw a lot of attention is Bayside Bombshell's burlesque entry which will show at The B.O.B.

Another interesting entry comes from photographer Jason Hulet.  His time-lapse video of Grand Rapids was shot over two days and will be on display at Coldwell Banker Showcase at 125 Ottawa.  Get a preview below.
