The all new 155,000 square-foot Meijer Supercenter location in Hudsonville opened Thursday morning at 7 a.m. features new shopping technology, home delivery, a drive-thru pharmacy and a medical center that will be open every day all year except Christmas.

According to WOOD TV, the new Meijer in Hundsonville will be open 24 hours a day and will be reintroducing baggers to speed up checkout times during the stores busiest hours.

The new Meijer will have several ways to shop from old school shopping to the new shop-and-scan technology that provides an app that allows you to shop and scan as you go. Plus there is a new home delivery service.

The pharmacy will have drive-thru capabilities and Meijer will be offering the company's free prescription service.

This Sunday, as part of the grand opening celebration, Meijer will be giving out gift cards that could be worth $5, $10 or $20.

The big talk around town is the new medical service that will offered by Spectrum Health. This will be the very first of its kind, a retail-based walk-in clinic.

This will be a non emergency care facility that will handle cold and flu symptoms, bumps and bruises, allergies. The retail medical facility will not treat broken bones or have x-ray machines.

The clinic will be open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The clinic will also be open on holidays except for Christmas.
