Town to Town Interview [Wendy Reed/Townsquare Media][/caption]

Dessert Wars is only days away and I had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with Joe from Town to Town Gourmet Pastries and trying the pastry his company will be showcasing at Monday's event.

Town to Town is a distribution center based out of Owosso, MI but you can find their desserts in stores all over West Michigan down to the Detroit area in Royal Oak.

They are most famous for their cream horns which is a Polish puff pastry. As you can see, it somewhat resembles the Italian cannoli but, personally, I think has a better taste. The crust is flaky and the cream center is PERFECTLY sweet. Not too much, not too little. I was also pleasantly surprised how light the cream filling was. The crunch of the crust and the smoothness of the cream contrast so well together. And, of course, the powdered sugar on top adds that extra something.

Joe and his wife are the owners and bakers of Town to Town and with his Polish & Ukrainian background and with her being Croatian and Czech, according to Joe, between the two of them, they "really get stuff brewing in the kitchen." You know it's good when it's homemade.
