We here at Channel 957 are animal lovers, and as such, we know that our animals love us back. It's always nice, though, to see those extraordinary pets out there who bring joy not just to their owners, but to everyone around them. Vito, a 2-and-a-half-year-old yellow lab, does just that at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.

Now Vito is pretty special outside of his loving nature, he has some medical ailments of his own. He was born with a birth defect that led to him having to have one of his kidneys removed.

Vito, and his owner Lori Barrante, love visiting the kids in the hospital who are often separated from their own pets for months at a time.

Dalton Miller, a 10-year-old patient at the hospital told ABC affiliate WTAE,

Dogs always just make me happy because they're happy.

They ARE always happy, aren't they?
