Whether we're ready for it or not the holidays are going to be here before you know it. This is also around the time where most of us start to pack on the pounds since we can hide our guts behind sweatshirts. But if you're looking to get in shape for the holidays without having to sacrifice all the yummy Thanksgiving and Christmas food, all you have to do is drink water!

According to Science Daily, researchers from the University of Birmingham found that drinking a 16-oz glass of water 30 minutes before each meal can help you lose weight.

Over the course of three months, participants were asked to drink a glass of water a half hour before breakfast, lunch and dinner and by the end of the study they lost an average of 9.5 pounds! Granted they were taught healthier eating habits but the water showed to be a major factor. People who only drank a glass of water before one meal or not at all, lost only an average of 1.7 pounds.

If you find this difficult, just make sure to always keep a bottled water with you, especially at work. It keeps you hydrated and you avoid drinking caffeine. Trust me, I do this and it helps!
