Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is already looking at four more sequels, despite the fact that the first isn’t even out in theaters yet. The folks Warner Bros. seem pretty sure they have a hit on their hands. While we don’t know a whole lot about the second one, other than it’s set in Paris and will star Johnny Depp in some capacity, we’ve heard as of today that the movie is casting, and looking for one very exciting role: Albus Dumbledore. You might’ve heard of him.

Speaking to ScreenRant at the Fantastic Beasts press junket, director David Yates confirmed that Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) would be returning, as would Dumbledore.

In the second movie Dumbledore comes back. He’s got a couple of good scenes with Newt… We’re discussing who would play Dumbledore, any suggestions would be good. [Laughs]

Michael Gambon portrayed the role most recently onscreen, but since the Fantastic Beasts movies are set a few decades back in the past from when the Harry Potter movies took place, they’ll need a younger actor to play him as he was at that point in his life. Apparently Dumbledore wasn’t always gray-haired and long-bearded. We know a little bit about his past from the Harry Potter books: in the last one, Harry learned about Dumbledore’s quest to find the three Deathly Hallows with his friend Gellert Grindelwald and their subsequent falling-out, and after the books were published J.K. Rowling confirmed that Dumbledore was gay.

Will they stick to that characterization in the movies? Let’s hope so. Some think Grindelwald might actually make an appearance in Fantastic Beasts as the villain that Colin Farrel’s character Percival Graves hints at in the trailers. Does this mean we’ll get to see their Deathly Hallows search in the sequels? If Grindelwald is the villain of the first movie, we might have to go back in time yet again to see his friendship with Dumbledore and fall from grace as he becomes a dark wizard. The possibilities are just endless.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens in theaters November 18.
