Gavin DeGraw put on an amazing show to a sold out crowd Sunday night at the Intersection, but just because he's on tour, doesn't mean that he's taking a break from his training for the upcoming season of "Dancing With The Stars". Saturday night, he played a show to a packed house at The Temple Theater in Saginaw, but not until after he practiced his dance moves.

DeGraw and Karina Smirnoff, his partner in the upcoming “Dancing with the Stars” season, stopped in at a Bay City area dance studio Saturday afternoon to go over  their moves (they need to stay on top of things, since the show premiers a week from tonight).

The owner of Expressions in Motion dance studio, Theresa Baker, told Mlive,

It was one of those fluke things! I got a call Wednesday from a guy who said he was David from ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ and he wanted to know if we’d consider letting them use rehearsal space for one of the couples coming to town. I thought yeah, right, this is probably a practical joke. But then I did a little research on my own and saw Gavin DeGraw was coming to Saginaw.

Karina explained to Baker that she's on tour with Gavin right now, and that while she was excited about it, she was kind of over it. Turns out it's not as glamorous of a lifestyle as she thought.

Sunday afternoon, prior to his show at the Intersection, Gavin and Karina spent several hours practicing at Social Dance Studio of Grand Rapids in Standale. He spoke with our media partners at WZZM 13 about his dance experience, and what he's learned so far leading up to DWTS.
