ArtPrize is a big deal to the Grand Rapids area, and it's about to get another publicity push from West Michigan's own Ginger Zee. Ginger is the weekend meteorologist on "Good Morning America", and is being inducted into the Rockford High School Hall Of Fame this weekend. Thing was, she wouldn't have been able to come generally speaking (because it's hard to take time off in the fast-paced world of news), so she decided to turn this into a working trip.  So, this weekend, she will be broadcasting the weather in Grand Rapids with ArtPrize as the backdrop.

Many in West Michigan may remember Ginger from the time she spent working for WOOD-TV8. She moved to New York to be a part of the "Good Morning America" team since last November, and has only been back to the area three times since.

Ginger told MLive that she looks forward to meeting many of GMA's fans while she is in town, while also spending some time with family and friends. Rockford High School is also planning visits on Friday afternoon so that Zee can meet some of the current Rockford schools students.

ArtPrize officials along with local ABC affiliates are coordinating Ginger's work responsibilities with a "Good Morning America" crew from Chicago.

Saturday morning, Ginger and "Good Morning America" will broadcast from the Gerald R. Ford Museum. Sunday's location has not yet been determined.
