Did you hear about this 8-year-old boy down in Toledo who made national news for paying it forward?

This one hits home, the 180th Fighter Wing of the Ohio Air National Guard Base was about 5 minutes from my childhood home, and that's where the story starts.

The story goes, Myles Eckert and his family were walking into Cracker Barrel when he found $20 in the parking lot. As any kid, or adult, would be he was excited to spend it on something for himself, he decided not to because he spotted a man in uniform, Lt. Colonel Frank Daly from the 180th Fighter Wing of the Ohio Air National Guard.

He was a soldier and soldiers remind me of my dad.

So, Myles took the $20, wrapped it in a note and gave it to the soldier. The note read:

Dear Soldier,

My dad was a soldier. He is in heaven now. I found this $20 in the parking lot when we got here. We like to pay it forward in my family. It is your lucky day! Thank you for your service.
-Myles Eckert, a gold star kid

Army Sergeant Andy Eckert, Myles' father, was killed in Iraq 5 weeks after Myles was born.

This is such a powerful story. I won't describe what the CBS cameras caught toward the end of the report, but I suggest you take 3 minutes to see for yourself.

It's good to see there are such good people at such young ages in the world, that will no doubt grow into good adults.
