A popular place to get plants and flowers will be officially closing by summer's end.

WZZM reports that Garden's Alive! Farms, on Winans St. in Grand Haven, will close on August 3rd; resulting in 300 lost jobs between full-time and seasonal workers. No one will be let go before then.

According to the Garden's Alive! website, their Grand Haven farm began in 2003 and is their largest one in the company with over 1700 acres. The company filed a letter with the sate announcing the closure and stated "current and expected future losses” as the reason.

The nursery farm used to be Zelenka Farms before being acquired by Garden's Alive in 2013 due to bankruptcy.
