Looks like we'll be seeing even more Chick-fil-A's pop up around Grand Rapids.

MLive reports that the city's Planning Commission approved the proposal to build another drive-thru Chick-fil-A at the Centerpointe Mall. About an acre of land will be reserved for the restaurant.

The board only requested that the restaurant have more windows.

Even though the Planning Commission already approved the location, Chick-fil-A still needs the green light from the Michigan Department of Transportation regarding how construction will affect the intersection of 28th Street and Beltline. Because of this, an opening date, or when they will even begin to build, is not known yet.

The Chick-fil-A will be located next to Krispy Kreme and Toys R Us and will have a double drive-thru.

In October, a location at Celebration Village was denied, because a drive-thru isn't allowed, but the company has re-submitted their plan at the same location along East Beltline. This will be discussed at the next commission meeting later this month.

While Chick-fil-A in Gaines Township just had their Grand Opening on Thursday, the other two W. Michigan locations have announced the days they will open their doors. The Chick-fil-A on 54th St. in Wyoming has their grand opening date set for February 9th while the one in Portage will open on February 23rd.
