26-year-old Grand Rapids Drive player, Zeke Upshaw died Monday morning after collapsing during a game on Saturday night.

The team confirmed the news and made a statement on their website.

After continued efforts from the medical team at Spectrum Health, Zeke made his transition at 11:16 a.m.

Details regarding his funeral will be announced later.

Upshaw collapsed during the final 40 seconds of the Drive game on Saturday night at the DeltaPlex. WOOD-TV says he went into cardiac arrest.

According to the GR Drive's website, Upshaw, a Chicago native, has been playing for the team for the past two years and appeared in 41 games this season so far.
