Grand Rapids tops another list of American cities in a recent study published by The Washington Post.  The study focused on end-of-life care quality of the 300 largest cities in the country.

The authors of the study based their study on deaths in the hospital, number of physicians seen in the last year of life, and a few other end-of-life factors to determine which cities were the best and worst to die in.

According to the study, Grand Rapids was the best city to die in.  Two other Michigan cities were in the top 10: St. Joseph and Petoskey.  7 out of 10 of the best cities to die in were in the midwest, which is weird because people in the midwest seem to go to Florida or Arizona to die.

Some of the worst cities to die in are: St. Petersburg and Miami, Florida, and Honolulu, Hawaii.  That seems a little counterintuitive, those are tropical wonderlands and seem like a great place to die.
