A 20-year-old Grand Rapids man is in the hospital after being shot early Monday morning. Police say the incident happened on the southwest side.

Police responded to a report of a shooting shortly after 1:00 a.m. to the 700 block of Emperor Street.  According to investigators, three masked men knocked on the door, when the victim answered, the suspects then forced their way inside, demanded money, and shot the victim in the neck.

The three suspects were male, and armed with a revolver.  They fled on foot shortly after the shooting.

Police are still investigating, and the victim's wound is considered non life threatening.
