Grand Rapids Police Say No Gun Was In Building

Police have cleared an office building  in the 3500 Block of Lake Eastbrook after receiving reports of a possible gunman in the building.

Officers searched the East Lake Office Center and say that they didn't find anyone with a gun.

Authorities responded to the scene after receiving a call from someone claiming to have seen a man going inside with a weapon.

According to WZZM, police are responding to a report of a gunman who has barricaded himself near Centerpointe Mall in a business complex at 3501 Lake Eastbrook SE.

Authorities are evacuating nearby businesses and residences. Motorists near the scene should expect delays and seek an alternate route if possible.

It is not known at this time if anyone else is in the building with the gunman.
