Two years after being fired from Grand Rapids' Catholic Central High School for providing alcohol to minors, a former teacher is facing serious charges.

Nicholas Young has been accused and charged with three counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a student.

Young is currently out on a $200,000 bond.

The Allegations Against Former Catholic Central Teacher Nicholas Young

According to multiple reports, Young is accused of having an ongoing sexual relationship with a former student, starting when the student was just 15 years old.

The allegations came after the victim's mother found text messages and photos between the teen and Young on the teen's phone.

Our news partners at FOX-17 report that when questioned, Young denied having a relationship with the student, but did not answer questions about any sexual contact there may have been between them. FOX-17 also reports that Young told authorities that the victim was "stalking" him.

Statement From the Catholic Diocese of Grand Rapids About the Allegations Against Nicholas Young

The Catholic Diocese of Grand Rapids, which runs Catholic Central High School released a statement that said, in part,

We are dismayed to learn of the recent arrest of a former employee. We have no evidence to suggest that any improper activities happened while this individual was an employee or on school property.

The Diocese stated that they are fully cooperating with authorities while they conduct their investigation.

It is currently unclear when Young is due back in court.
