Indiana Jones once said, "I hate snakes." I've repeated those words multiple times. If you hate snakes, look away.

Holly Wright of Grand Rapids found a couch on along the curb in Heritage Hill, two months after moving it to her bedroom she found a boa constrictor living under the cushions.

Let that sink in for a moment.

Wright tells WZZM that she found the couch along the curb with a free sign in front of it. She brought it home and cleaned it up:

"We smelled it and everything-- it looked OK. We peeled off the cushions, cleaned it up, never saw anything."

Over the weekend the snake started coming out of the couch. Wright says it was lethargic, so she and her boyfriend got the snake the rest of the way out. They were about to take it to an animal hospital, unfortunately the snake died before they could get it help.

Wright tells WZZM her bedroom now feels empty:

"Funny, my room almost feels a little empty now. It's been really sad actually to realize all this time I was in proximity to that animal (that) was probably suffering."

Excuse me while I head home to rip open all my cushions!
