Yesterday, Central Michigan University announced that they were increasing tuition rates by 3.47% and Northern Michigan University announced their increase of 6.9%.  Today, Grand Valley State University announced its tuition rate for the coming year.

Tuition will increase by 6.9% at GVSU beginning this fall.  That’s an increase of $314 per semester bringing annual tuition to $9,716.  GVSU's tuition ranks the 10th highest out of Michigan's 15 public universities.

GVSU will be eligible for $4 million tuition grant for keeping their tuition increase below 7%. That’s where the 6.9% comes from.

The job market is tough, but that makes it a good time to be in school if you can afford it.
