We've been hearing a lot about advanced energy batteries in West Michigan.  President Obama's recent visit to Johnson Controls in Holland highlighted this technology.  Now Grand Valley State University will be offering certification and courses in alternative energy storage batteries.

New college courses often make the news.  Frequently it's because the courses are controversial or involve studying the life of a celebrity or something else which sounds more like entertainment than education.  Not this time.

GVSU's planned alternative energy battery courses involve an exciting new technology that is growing right here in West Michigan.  If this technology grows as we hope, these courses could become very popular with both students and employers.  According to mlive.com, the courses will be offered as a special concentration within a major.
