Hudsonville Mom Taken To Court For Grounding 15-Year-Old Daughter From Phone
Jodie May of Hudsonville had to go to court after taking away her daughter’s phone as a disciplinary action.
Jodie took away her 15-year-old daughter's iPhone 6 to punish her little did she know this would land her in jail. Her ex-husband made the complaint to police as he is the owner of the daughter’s phone thinking that Jodie was stealing it. She was arrested and immediately was released on a $200 bond.
The charges against her were for larceny and she faced up to 93 days in jail. As the trial started a new story came to the case after it was discovered that the phone was owned by the daughter and not her ex-husband. This changed the case as it was a disciplinary action and not a theft. Jodie walked away without any charges.
