Grandville Softball at Little League World Series

A Grandville softball team is one of the best in the world. The team is one of only ten left that are competing in the Little League World Series in Portland, Oregon.

The Grandville girls won the U.S. Central Region Championship and are one of six U.S. teams in the tournament. The other four teams represent: Philippines, Canada, the Netherlands and Puerto Rico.

Grandville opens play today at 7PM EST against Makati City Philippines, the Asia-Pacific representative. Grandville will play one game each day through Sunday.

• Friday: vs. Southeast at 1PM EST
• Saturday: vs. West at 10:30PM EST
• Sunday: vs. Canada at 4PM EST

Teams will be seeded after Sunday's games and single elimination play will begin on Monday for the top four seeds from each pool.

The semifinals will be broadcast live on ESPN on Tuesday, August 16 at 7PM EST and 9:30PM EST. The championship game will be on ESPN2 on Wednesday, August 17 at 9PM EST.
