I said this the other day about hockey at Van Andel Arena, but it So weird to think that it’s been almost a year since students with Grand Rapids Public School have been in a classroom.

As WZZM reports, it has been but that’s changing starting Tuesday, January 19th.

Starting this next week GRPS is starting a hybrid learning schedule with half of their students learning in-person on Monday and Tuesday and then the other half of students will come to school on Thursday and Friday.  They’ll use Wednesdays to deep clean the building in between the two groups of students.

I’m not sure which group I’d rather be in.. starting my week in school or ending it there. I’m thinking Monday and Tuesday would be the better schedule. Not that the students get to pick their schedule themselves, but still now you know which one I'd rather do.

According to WZZM, GRPS has been working for around the last six months to make sure schools are ready for students by upgrading their ventilation and also creating Waze for students to social distance and making sure they have a supply of masks and hand sanitizer for the students. Starting next week the class even the classrooms I have been reconfigured for social distancing with the desk 6 feet apart.
