Hi, I’m Steve and I’m a new Dad who has learned a lot of things over the last several months and I want to pass along some knowledge to you!

Each week I will be giving you some new tips for first-time parents and one spectacular Dad joke!  So let's get to the tips!

  1. The first daddy tip of the week is to never turn down a friend or co-worker’s hand me downs. We have gotten more clothes and toys than we know what to do with, but that’s OK because we can randomly go in the basement and it feels like we are shopping for new toys and clothes. One of my co-workers, Mel, even hooked Britt and me up with an awesome kitchen playset that Charlotte absolutely loves now that she is big enough to play with it. And all of the clothes we’ve gotten that don’t fit or we didn’t like we just pass along to another family or donate to charity, so just never say no when someone is trying to give you their old stuff because it just might be exactly what you are looking for!
  2. The second daddy tip this week is to play fun music while you are giving your little one a bath. Britt and I just started to give Charlotte a soundtrack to her bath time and it is hilarious! The first song you should always play is Bobby Darin's Splish Splash and then you can move into Rose Royce's Car Wash and finally finish off bath time with the classic Sesame Street's Ernie and his Rubber Duckie.
  3. The final daddy tip is to log on to MIX957gr.com and read your responses from yesterday’s Text Question of the Day where we asked you to tell us what you wish your parents did differently. It’s a pretty good guideline on things that people found important when they were kids. But you also have some answers like “I wish my parents would have pushed me harder to do sports” and then others that say “I wish my parents wouldn’t have pushed me so hard to do sports.” So, just take the suggestions with a grain of salt.

And now it’s time for an awesomely spooky dad joke!

Q: Why did Dracula get thrown out of the haunted house?
A: Because he was a pain in the neck!
