Bad things happen all of the time. Accidents, even. But, a recent house fire in Des Moines, Iowa is being traced back to a rather surprising source: a Facebook un-friending.

The Des Moines Register is reporting that the home of Jim and Nikki Rasmussen caught fire on the morning of October 27th. The fire department suspected that it was the result of arson, and asked Jim and Nikki if they knew of any one that might want to cause them harm. Both husband and wife agreed there was only one suspect: Jen Harris. Detectives have since arrested Jennifer Christine Harris, 30, of Des Moines, on a charge of first-degree arson.

Apparently Jennifer Harris and Nikki Rasmussen used to be good friends, but in the day and age of Facebook, friendships can end with just the click of a mouse. Apparently, their friendship hit a bit of a rough spot when they were trying to plan a party for Jennifer Harris' birthday. When the majority of the people invited to the party declined the Facebook invite (probably because Harris is a freaking crazy person), Harris blamed Rasmussen and started talking smack about her on Facebook.

Nikki Rasmussen took the higher road, and simply defriended and then blocked Jen Harris. That should be the end of the story.

But no, like I said earlier, Jennifer Harris is allegedly a crazy person, and she allegedly tried to burn the Rasmussen's house down by starting a fire in their garage. The fire destroyed the detached garage and damaged the home of the Rasmussens, but caused no injuries. According to her arrest record online, Harris is being held in the Polk County Jail on $100,000 bond.
