Schools in the Grand Rapids area are taking swift action to ensure that the schools in our area continue to operate under the safest conditions possible. In a Friday meeting Rockford Public Schools decided that they would have four "shooter lock down" drills throughout the school year. Currently, the law in Michigan is only two drills a year.

The superintendent of Rockford Public Schools said:

the code red training and drills is far more important in saving lives if tragedy should occur than any other measures"
