Michigan is recognizing National Human Trafficking Awareness and Prevention Month by spotlighting solutions and new laws.

The State of Michigan offers a website filled with resources on human trafficking. The website offers a way to report suspected trafficking, information on current laws, updates on human trafficking cases in Michigan, and other education information.

Human trafficking is the fastest-growing and second-largest criminal industry in the world. There are an estimated 25 million people caught in human trafficking for both sex and labor.

A new law in Michigan this year allows human trafficking victims to have prostitution related charges diverted by the court if they are found to have been victims of human trafficking.
