If our mild winter has you showing early signs of cabin fever, you don't have to wait until spring, the cure arrives on Thursday.

John Ball Zoo opens for the season on Thursday, March 1.  As soon you walk in, you'll notice some changes.

Mlive.com gives us more details on the changes at John Ball Zoo:

When John Ball Zoo visitors head to the park when it reopens March 1, they might notice a new entrance plaza and in-the-works gift shop upgrade.

The zoo, which will have been closed for 11 weeks come opening day, is undergoing a number of projects as part of a 3-year expansion plan, park leaders said in a release.

Other projects visitors should notice include the Bissell Tree House, a future indoor event space expected to open in August for weddings, corporate events and the like.

Looking forward to watching the kids chase the penguins back and forth again this year.  Makes nap time a little easier.

John Ball Zoo will open daily at 10:00am and close at 4:00pm.  Admission is $5 for adults and $4 for kids 3-12, 2 and under are free.
