John Mayer performed for the first time in two years when he appeared at the Livingston Town Proper benefit concert at the Emerson Theatre in Bozeman, Mont. on Wednesday (Jan. 16).

The 35-year-old spoke to the crowd about his frustrations and obstacles since finding granulomas in his throat in April 2011, but he happily informed the crowd that he has a clean bill of heath from his doctor and that the nodules are gone. Mayer performed 'Speak for Me' and 'If I Ever Get Around to Living,' and later shared the stage with Zac Brown from the Zac Brown Band.

A tweet from his official Twitter account offered an photo from the evening, and read: "Tonight John sang 'Speak For Me' at the Livingston Town Proper. And we're back." Mayer will make his next appearance at New Orleans JazzFest on April 26.
