As you may have gathered by now, I'm not much of a sports person, but I do know a milestone that deserves celebrating when I hear and see one!  Especially when it involves a West Michigander!!

Over the weekend, Kalamazoo native Derek Jeter, of the New York Yankees made history with his 3,000th hit. 
The Yankee's #2 baseball great admits he's been lying for several weeks about NOT being nervous about reaching that goal.  You'll have to watch the video to decide if he's sincere enough during his press conference confession that followed Saturday's victory :)
Two other milestones were met including Jeter being the first Yankee to have 3,000 hits AND it was a home-run hit!  Best of all, Jeter said, '...it happened while I was playing at home!'
