Katy Perry, singer of Purposeful Pop—not to be confused with Justin Bieber's album—brought down the house (literally, she deconstructed it) during her performance at the 2017 Grammy Awards on Sunday, February 12.

Katy performed her brand new single, "Chained to the Rhythm," onstage at the 59th annual Grammys, where she wore a "Persist" armband, actual rose-colored glasses and a black and white suit with lace bustier.

Her performance was, much like the disco-pop tune itself, politically-charged: As Katy prowled the small house and white picket fence on the stage, the set literally began to deconstruct, revealing dancers holding picket signs.

After a breakdown featuring collaborator Skip Marley, Katy ended the song standing in front of the Constitution of United States of America, sending her political message loud and clear.
