Kelly Clarkson breathed twang into "Shallow," Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's famed duet from the film A Star Is Born.

During a tour stop in Green Bay, Wisc., on Feb. 15, Clarkson took a moment to tip a hat to Gaga — an artist she's always admired. "I hope I don’t suck, and if I do, I hope she doesn't see it," Clarkson joked before she started singing.

Clarkson has been known to enjoy putting her own spin on hit songs, regularly performing covers during concerts. "There is a lot of competition always with artists in the industry. There's a lot of us that just dig each other and we really get inspired by each other and what we're doing," Clarkson told the crowd.

For her, one of those people is Lady Gaga.

"Honestly, I remember her first single. We actually did a show together combined for some event and she is one of the only artists that has ever — she like wrote me a hand-written letter like note saying, 'Thank you so much, it was an honor to open for you,'" she recalls.

Clarkson's cover of "Shallow" was a part of a Facebook livestream she has done for the past few show dates, dubbed the 'A Minute and a Glass of Wine' segment. Once she introduced the song, the crowd erupted and never let up.

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's "Shallow" is up for Best Original Song at the upcoming Oscars (Feb. 24). The song also won big at the 2019 Grammy Awards, taking home the Best Pop Duo/Group for the song.

Clarkson is currently on her Meaning of Life Tour with support from Kelsea Ballerini through this spring.
